My Journey

In 1999 – 2009 Fikile Zungu was a cleaner at cleaning maintenance personnel for 10 years.

In 2010 Fikile moved to Belgium 2010 and was a domestic Worker for the South African Embassy

In 2017 Fikile became the cook for the South African Ambassador. Fikile started banting in the same year

In 2019 Fikile Zungu is launching her recipe book MaidToCook inspired by Banting

From Maid to Cook

An inspiring journey of Fikile Zungu who hails from Soweto Phiri who worked tirelessly as a cleaner worked as a domestic worker to be Cooking for the South African Ambassador in Belgium.

Fikile’s self-taught culinary skills, appetizing dishes won the heart of the South African Ambassador in Belgium who insisted Fikile become his official cook.

Fikile Zungu’s love affair with food started at an early age, which was not healthy and led to Fikile grappling with obesity most of her life.

Fikile adopted a banting diet and resulted in her losing about 21 kgs. from initially weighing 108 kg
